Financial Consultant Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a financial consultant in Pennsylvania?
Most financial consultant roles in Pennsylvania require passing the FINRA Series 65 or Series 66 exam, both of which are recognized by the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities for investment adviser representative registration. You'll typically need a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a closely related field. Many Pennsylvania employers also expect or prefer the CFP designation, and some roles in insurance-linked planning require a Pennsylvania insurance producer license.
Which companies hire financial consultants in Pennsylvania?
Employers hiring financial consultants in Pennsylvania right now include Marsh McLennan Agency, Utilities Employees Credit Union, and RSM, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Pennsylvania's concentration of large asset managers, regional banks, and insurance carriers, particularly in the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh corridors, makes it one of the more active states for financial consulting roles across wealth management and corporate finance.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most financial consultant jobs?
Conshohocken, Ephrata, and Indiana account for the greatest concentration of financial consultant openings in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia dominates because of the dense cluster of asset managers, insurance headquarters, and regional banks based there, while Pittsburgh draws demand from its financial services and corporate sectors, and Harrisburg's openings are tied closely to state government-adjacent financial planning and insurance firms operating in the capital region.
Are there remote financial consultant jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, and more than many client-facing roles allow. About 88% of financial consultant openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the analytical and planning work can be done off-site. The most remote-friendly sub-areas are financial planning, portfolio analysis, and fee-only advisory work, while roles requiring in-person client relationship management tend to be on-site or hybrid.
How can I get hired as a financial consultant in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for a financial advisor associate or client associate role at one of Pennsylvania's large wealth management firms or bank-affiliated advisory practices, where structured training programs exist for candidates without direct experience. Vanguard, based in Malvern, runs well-known new-graduate development programs in financial services. Passing the Series 65 exam before applying, or earning a CFP education certificate, signals seriousness and gives candidates a clear edge over others without a credential or client-facing background.
Where can I find and apply to financial consultant jobs in Pennsylvania?
You can find and apply to financial consultant jobs in Pennsylvania on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from Pennsylvania employers across Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, and beyond. Find the roles that fit your experience and credentials and apply directly from the listings below.
