FP&A Manager Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a fp&a manager in Massachusetts?
The path to fp&a manager in Massachusetts typically starts with a finance or accounting degree followed by several years in financial analysis, accounting, or business intelligence roles. There is no state-issued license required, but Massachusetts employers in life sciences and financial services place strong weight on the CFA credential or an MBA from a regional institution. Moving through senior analyst or finance business partner roles at Boston-area firms is the most common progression.
How much do FP&A managers make in Massachusetts?
FP&A managers in Massachusetts earn a median of about $134,720 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $82,490 for the lowest 10% to over $216,940 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire fp&a managers in Massachusetts?
Employers hiring fp&a managers in Massachusetts right now include Formlabs, Raytheon, and Teradyne, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Massachusetts's deep concentration of biotech, asset management, and defense technology firms means finance functions here often require industry-specific planning expertise alongside core FP&A skills.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most fp&a manager jobs?
Boston, Cambridge, and Andover are the Massachusetts cities with the most fp&a manager openings. Boston dominates because it houses the headquarters and regional finance centers of major financial services, healthcare, and technology employers, while Waltham and Burlington along the Route 128 corridor attract openings from the large biotech and defense contractors clustered in those suburbs.
Are there remote fp&a manager jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, and more than most fields, since fp&a manager work is almost entirely analytical and desk-based. About 73% of fp&a manager openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how readily planning and modeling work translates to distributed teams. Budget consolidation and board reporting cycles are the parts of the role most consistently handled remotely.
How can I get hired as a fp&a manager in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from a financial analyst or accounting associate role into an FP&A function at a large Massachusetts employer. Life sciences companies such as those in the Kendall Square cluster and asset managers in the Financial District regularly promote from within or hire analysts into junior FP&A roles. Building proficiency in Adaptive Planning or Anaplan and earning the CFA Level I credential strengthens a candidate's profile considerably for that lateral move.
Where can I find and apply to fp&a manager jobs in Massachusetts?
You can find and apply to fp&a manager jobs in Massachusetts on Migrate Mate, which lists current Massachusetts openings. Search the roles available, find the ones that fit your background and target industry, and apply directly to the positions that match.
