FP&A Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a fp&a manager in Texas?
The path to an fp&a manager role in Texas typically begins with a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, followed by several years in financial analyst or senior analyst roles. Texas does not require a state-issued license to work in corporate FP&A, but earning a CPA through the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy or a CFA designation significantly strengthens your candidacy, particularly with large employers in Houston's energy sector or Dallas's corporate headquarters landscape.
How much do FP&A managers make in Texas?
FP&A managers in Texas earn a median of about $101,400 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $62,730 for the lowest 10% to over $168,420 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire fp&a managers in Texas?
Employers hiring fp&a managers in Texas right now include Equinix, McKesson, and Riveron, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and major energy companies means fp&a manager openings appear consistently across industries including oil and gas, technology, healthcare systems, and financial services.
Which Texas cities have the most fp&a manager jobs?
Dallas, Austin, and Houston account for the most fp&a manager openings in Texas. Houston leads because of its dense concentration of energy company headquarters and large healthcare systems, Dallas follows as a major corporate hub for financial services, retail, and technology firms, and Austin's fast-growing tech and semiconductor sector has made it an increasingly active market for fp&a talent.
Are there remote fp&a manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields, since fp&a work is analytical and desk-based by nature. About 44% of fp&a manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how well the planning and reporting functions travel outside a traditional office. Strategic planning cycles and board-level presentations tend to require more in-person presence, while routine forecasting and modeling work is commonly performed remotely.
How can I get hired as a fp&a manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into an fp&a analyst or rotational finance role at a large Texas employer and building toward management from there. Companies like ExxonMobil, Texas Instruments, and major health systems such as Houston Methodist run structured finance rotational programs designed for new graduates. Lateral moves from accounting, internal audit, or business analysis roles are common stepping stones, and proficiency in financial modeling tools or earning a CPA through the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy gives candidates a measurable edge in competitive markets.
Where can I find and apply to fp&a manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to fp&a manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across Houston, Dallas, Austin, and other Texas markets. Find the roles that fit your background and apply directly to the employers posting them.
