Front Desk Jobs in New Jersey: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a front desk in New Jersey?
Most front desk roles in New Jersey require a high school diploma and on-the-job training, with no state-issued license needed for general reception work. Medical front desk positions at New Jersey hospitals and physician practices often require familiarity with electronic health record systems and may prefer candidates who have completed a medical administrative assistant program at a New Jersey community college such as Middlesex College or Bergen Community College.
Which companies hire front desks in New Jersey?
New Jersey front desk roles are posted by Allied Universal, Massage Envy, and trinity rehab and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New Jersey's dense concentration of hospitals, pharmaceutical headquarters, and hotel properties along the Turnpike corridor means large institutional employers account for a significant share of consistent openings.
Which New Jersey cities have the most front desk jobs?
Jersey City, Somerset, and Princeton lead New Jersey for front desk openings, driven by Newark's major hospital systems and corporate offices, Jersey City's financial services firms and proximity to Manhattan, and the Route 1 corridor's pharmaceutical campuses and medical practice clusters that generate steady administrative hiring across the central part of the state.
Are there remote front desk jobs in New Jersey?
Yes, but they're rare. About 3% of front desk openings tied to New Jersey are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, since most front desk work requires an in-person presence to greet visitors and manage physical operations. The roles most likely to be partially remote are virtual receptionist positions at insurance companies or telehealth providers headquartered in New Jersey.
How can I get hired as a front desk in New Jersey with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to medical receptionist or hotel front desk associate roles that explicitly list training as part of onboarding. Large New Jersey employers like RWJBarnabas Health and Atlantic Health System regularly hire candidates without prior experience for unit coordinator and patient services representative roles. Completing a short medical administrative assistant certificate at a community college, or starting in a hotel housekeeping or concierge support role at a Shore-area property, provides a credible first step toward a front desk position.
Where can I find and apply to front desk jobs in New Jersey?
You can find and apply to front desk jobs in New Jersey on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers actively hiring across the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your background and preferred location, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
