Front Desk Receptionist Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a front desk receptionist in Texas?
A high school diploma or GED is the standard starting point for front desk receptionist roles in Texas, with no state-issued license required for the general role. Medical front desk positions at Texas healthcare facilities often require familiarity with HIPAA protocols and electronic health record systems, which employers like HCA Houston Healthcare and Baylor Scott & White expect candidates to demonstrate. Completing a medical office administration program at a Texas community college strengthens applications for clinical settings.
Which companies hire front desk receptionists in Texas?
Texas front desk receptionist roles are posted by Serenity Healthcare, FYZICAL, and TotalCare and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Texas's dense concentration of hospital systems, corporate campuses, and full-service hotels means consistent openings across healthcare, finance, and hospitality sectors statewide.
Which Texas cities have the most front desk receptionist jobs?
Houston, Austin, and Frisco lead for front desk receptionist openings in Texas. Houston's dominance reflects its massive medical center complex and energy-sector corporate offices, while Dallas draws volume from financial services and professional firm headquarters, and Austin's tech and government presence fuels demand at both startups and state agencies.
Are there remote front desk receptionist jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're rare. About 0% of front desk receptionist openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, since the role is fundamentally built around in-person visitor management and phone coverage. The portion of remote work that does exist tends to involve virtual receptionist or call-handling functions for multi-site Texas businesses.
How can I get hired as a front desk receptionist in Texas with little or no experience?
Applying for a part-time or seasonal front desk role at a Texas hotel, medical clinic, or property management office is the most realistic entry path without prior experience. Large Texas health systems such as UT Health and Texas Health Resources frequently post patient services representative positions that accept candidates new to formal reception work. Completing a short medical office or business administration certificate at a Texas community college and demonstrating bilingual English-Spanish ability can set an applicant apart from others at the same experience level.
Where can I find and apply to front desk receptionist jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to front desk receptionist jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings updated regularly. Search for roles that match your background, whether that's a medical front desk position in Houston or a corporate reception role in Dallas, and apply directly to the ones that fit your experience and availability.
