Housekeeping Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a housekeeping in Pennsylvania?
Pennsylvania does not require a state-issued license to work in housekeeping. Most employers hire candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent and provide on-the-job training. Healthcare facilities often require completion of an in-house environmental services orientation and OSHA bloodborne pathogen training before a new hire works independently. Hotels and resorts typically prefer candidates who have completed a hospitality or facilities management program at a Pennsylvania community college.
Which companies hire housekeepings in Pennsylvania?
Companies currently hiring housekeepings in Pennsylvania include Saber Healthcare, Palette Hotels, and Marriott International, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Pennsylvania's mix of large academic medical centers, resort hotels in the Pocono region, and major commercial property management firms means ongoing openings across diverse employer types throughout the state.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most housekeeping jobs?
Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Allentown have the most housekeeping openings in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia anchors demand through its dense concentration of hospital systems, hotels, and corporate office campuses, while Pittsburgh draws from healthcare and university facilities, and the Pocono Mountains area sustains year-round openings through its resort and hospitality industry.
Are there remote housekeeping jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, but they're rare. Housekeeping is an inherently hands-on, on-site role, so most positions require physical presence in a facility. About 0% of housekeeping openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those tend to be supervisory, training coordinator, or quality inspection roles rather than frontline cleaning positions.
How can I get hired as a housekeeping in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for a room attendant or environmental services aide role at a Pennsylvania hospital system or hotel, where employers like Jefferson Health, UPMC, and large Marriott- or Hilton-branded properties regularly hire without prior experience and train on the job. Completing a short OSHA safety or hospitality fundamentals course at a Pennsylvania community college strengthens an application. Lateral moves from porter, laundry attendant, or facilities support roles are common stepping stones into full housekeeping positions.
Where can I find and apply to housekeeping jobs in Pennsylvania?
You can find and apply to housekeeping jobs in Pennsylvania on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your experience and preferred location, and apply directly through each listing.
