HVAC Service Technician
Schedule: On-Call (including evenings, weekends, and peak seasonal hours as needed)
Pay Rate: $22.00 – $34.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Position Summary
A skilled and reliable HVAC Service Technician is needed for a temp-to-hire opportunity supporting residential and commercial service operations. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of HVAC and refrigeration systems. Ideal candidates are experienced, safety-focused, and able to respond to on-call service needs with professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain residential and commercial HVAC systems
- Work on split systems, packaged units, rooftop units, and heat pumps
- Service commercial refrigeration equipment including walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-in units, and ice machines
- Perform preventative maintenance and complete service documentation accurately
- Communicate findings, repairs, and recommendations clearly and professionally
- Follow all safety standards, company procedures, and applicable codes
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency service requests
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of HVAC service experience (strong residential AC and heat pump experience will be considered)
- EPA 608 Certification (Universal preferred)
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass background screening
- Willingness to work on-call and extended hours during peak seasons
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Commercial refrigeration experience
- NATE or other HVAC-related certifications
- Experience with building automation systems or HVAC controls
- Background working in both residential and commercial environments
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work performed at residential and commercial customer sites
- Ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform physical job duties
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and mechanical environments
