Manufacturing Supervisor Jobs in Wisconsin: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a manufacturing supervisor in Wisconsin?
Most Wisconsin employers expect a combination of a technical degree and hands-on production experience, typically starting as a machine operator, team lead, or quality technician before moving into supervision. There is no state-issued license required for manufacturing supervisors in Wisconsin. Earning a Lean Six Sigma credential or completing a supervisory leadership certificate through a Wisconsin Technical College System school, such as MATC or Fox Valley Technical College, strengthens a candidate's profile considerably.
How much do manufacturing supervisors make in Wisconsin?
Manufacturing supervisors in Wisconsin earn a median of about $74,840 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $50,690 for the lowest 10% to over $101,750 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire manufacturing supervisors in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin manufacturing supervisor roles are posted by AriensCo, Signicast, and Merck KGaA and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Wisconsin's concentration of food processing, heavy equipment, and precision metal fabrication employers means openings appear across the state's industrial corridor, not just in the largest metro areas.
Which Wisconsin cities have the most manufacturing supervisor jobs?
Milwaukee, New Berlin, and Bloomer consistently post the highest volume of manufacturing supervisor openings in Wisconsin. Milwaukee drives the largest share through its dense base of industrial equipment, specialty chemicals, and metal products manufacturers, while Green Bay's food processing sector and Appleton's paper and packaging industry sustain steady demand in the Fox Valley corridor.
Are there remote manufacturing supervisor jobs in Wisconsin?
Yes, but they're rare. Manufacturing supervisors are responsible for overseeing production lines, shift teams, and floor operations that require a physical presence, so most roles are fully on-site. About 33% of manufacturing supervisor openings tied to Wisconsin are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those postings typically cover administrative, scheduling, or multi-site coordination functions rather than direct floor supervision.
How can I get hired as a manufacturing supervisor in Wisconsin with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is to join a Wisconsin manufacturer in a production operator, quality inspector, or materials handler role and build toward a team lead position. Large Wisconsin employers such as Oshkosh Corporation and Kohler run internal leadership development and supervisory readiness programs that promote from within. Completing a production supervision or industrial management certificate through the Wisconsin Technical College System signals supervisory intent and accelerates that path.
Where can I find and apply to manufacturing supervisor jobs in Wisconsin?
You can find and apply to manufacturing supervisor jobs in Wisconsin on Migrate Mate, which lists current Wisconsin openings across industries and metro areas. Search the listings by location or specialty, find roles that fit your experience and goals, and apply directly to the ones that match.
