In this pivotal role, you’ll own and lead the entire marketing strategy for our State & Local Government and Education (SLED) segment. - Manages the marketing relationship with the segment (SLED).
- Leads marketing relationship with segment leadership team, sales, etc.
- Leads monthly, quarterly and annual planning and reviews with segment.
- Ensures there is consistent, effective communication between marketing and the segment.
- Translates business goals and priorities into a marketing strategy and plan that directly impacts key performance areas such as revenue, gross profit and market share.
- Establishes marketing priorities and goals (e.g., market share, leads, pipeline growth, vendor consideration, market awareness, sales readiness, sales effectiveness).
- Develops value proposition, positioning and key messages.
- Develops and executes thought leadership.
- Coordinates sales enablement to help ensure sales readiness; engages partners as appropriate
- Creates, develops and executes campaigns and programs while helping to identify opportunities, providing customer and market insight, and providing messaging, speakers, content, etc.
- Understands key market and customer characteristics and trends and develops strategies to address.
- Reviews relevant market research reports, industry publications and participates in seminars that are specific to technology. Summarizes findings and makes recommendations for how to incorporate these findings into our go-to-market message and/or to suggest areas to test new methodologies into the current strategy.
- Maintains segment profile: market share, number of customers, customer segmentation (by size, industry, etc.), average deal size, customer share of wallet, top partners, etc.
- Defines and understands market segments, solution categories, etc. with the goal of identifying new opportunities.
- Captures competitive intelligence and factors into marketing strategy as appropriate.
- Designs and implements the “playbook” to facilitate strategies utilizing approved methodology and available market data to write probing questions that uncover customers’ needs.
- Manages collateral to support the needs of the segment.
- Partners with Creative Services to create new collateral across multiple mediums, including print, digital and others as required.
- Periodically reviews existing collateral and facilitate updates, engaging with all stakeholders to ensure accuracy of company branding, message and customer-facing messaging.
- Periodically reviews and updates core web content for the segment to ensure the content is remains current and is consistent with approved messaging and brand elements.
- Periodically reviews and updates customer and vendor presentations to ensure slides remain current, reflect information in consistent format with approved messaging and brand elements.
- Manages functional budget for SLED segment.
- Performs all other duties or special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or similar with 9-12 years relates experience.
- Translate leadership business strategies into comprehensive segment marketing plans
- Manage annual marketing budgets of $1M+
- Proficient in measuring, analyzing, adjusting and reporting on marketing performance
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint with ability to create a document/ report/presentation.
- Basic Excel to create simple worksheets within a workbook along with basic formatting functions
- Solid critical thinking and analytical skills with ability to translate customer criteria into a campaign
- Program and campaign management experience, driving initiatives from conception to completion
- Business experience with ability to work cross-functionally and across all levels of an organization
- Proficient in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Self-motivated with ability to work well independently and also contribute in a team environment
- Analytical with ability to draw conclusions
- Detail oriented with item by item focus, meticulous attention to detail with ability to proofread for accuracy
