Description:
At Saint Mary’s Hospital, our Medical Oncology Registered Nurses (RNs) provide specialized, compassionate care to hospitalized patients undergoing cancer treatment. These dedicated professionals play a vital role in administering therapies, managing symptoms, and supporting patients and their families throughout their cancer journey. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred.
- Licensure: Current and valid Connecticut RN license.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in an acute inpatient setting.
- Certifications: BLS or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
Position Highlights:
- Full Time: 3hrs/week - Night Shift - 2 - 12 Hour shifts then 3 - 12 Hour Shifts
- Rotating 3rd Weekend/ Every other Holiday
- This is an hourly position, included in the RN Step Program pay range: $36.15 to $59.95.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Monitoring: Continuously assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and document clinical progress.
- Medication Administration: Deliver oncology-specific treatments with attention to accurate dosing, monitoring, and documentation.
- Patient & Family Education: Provide clear, empathetic education on diagnoses, treatments, and self-care strategies.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with physicians and healthcare teams to monitor neurological status, cognitive function, motor skills, and sensory responses.
