About the Position
Counselman Automotive Recycling is looking for a dependable, motivated, and well-rounded Automotive Parts & Operations Specialist to join our Mobile team.
We're looking for someone with an automotive background who is willing to learn multiple areas of our operation and help wherever needed. The ideal candidate will have experience in a body shop, collision repair facility, automotive parts operation, or similar automotive environment and understand what a quality automotive part should look like.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced position that requires attention to detail, good judgment, computer skills, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to pitch in wherever the team needs help.
Responsibilities
- Inspect automotive parts for quality, condition, damage, and accuracy
- Recognize damaged or unacceptable parts and other quality issues
- Assist with quality control (QC)
- Process and handle parts returns
- Receive, organize, move, load, and unload automotive parts
- Make deliveries and drive company vehicles as needed
- Use computers and company software to look up and process parts information
- Learn and assist with multiple positions within the operation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Assist with general shop and warehouse duties as needed
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- Help wherever needed to keep the operation running smoothly
Qualifications & Requirements
- Body shop, collision repair, automotive parts, or similar automotive experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of automotive parts and the ability to recognize damage and quality issues
- Basic mechanical knowledge and aptitude
- Comfortable using computers and able to learn new software and systems
- Fast-paced and productive while remaining detail-oriented
- Dependable with a strong work ethic and good attendance
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude
- Willing to learn multiple positions and take on different responsibilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card
- Must meet company driver-insurability requirements, including being at least 25 years old
- Must have a valid driver's license and clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- 9:30 AM–6:00 PM
- 40 hours per week
- 30-minute lunch break
- No regular weekend schedule
Pay & Benefits
