People Operations Specialist — Part-Time
Organization: 50 North
Location: On site in Findlay, Ohio
Schedule: 24 hours per week, preferably Tuesday–Thursday; schedule negotiable
Starting pay: $33.65 per hour
Classification: Non-exempt
Reports to: Executive Director and Assistant Director

50 North is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching lives and supporting independence for adults age 50 and older. Through programs, services, and resources, we promote wellness, connection, and community engagement.
Position Summary
The People Operations Specialist supports the day-to-day HR needs of 50 North. This position coordinates hiring and onboarding, maintains employee records, administers established benefits and leave processes, and serves as a helpful, confidential resource for employees and supervisors.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate job postings, applications, interviews, references, and background checks.
- Manage new-hire onboarding and employee offboarding.
- Maintain accurate employee records, job descriptions, and information in BambooHR.
- Coordinate benefits enrollment and communicate with employees about established benefits and leave processes.
- Respond to routine HR questions and recognize when a matter needs leadership or specialized guidance.
- Support supervisors with performance documentation, employee concerns, and training needs.
- Assist with employee engagement, recognition, and professional development activities.
- Review HR procedures and handbook materials and recommend updates to leadership.
- Assist leadership with employee relations matters and investigations while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and documentation.
- Attend Safety Council meetings as needed.
Qualifications
- At least two years of relevant HR or people operations experience; benefits administration experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of HR practices and sound judgment when handling sensitive matters.
- Strong communication, organization, writing, and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to work effectively with employees and supervisors at all levels.
- Comfort using HR software and standard office programs; BambooHR experience is a plus.
- An HR-related degree or certification is preferred, but relevant experience will also be considered.
- Ability to work on site during scheduled hours.
