Job description
Busy Ophthalmology practice seeking an experienced patient coordinator to join our team. This is a full-time position Monday-Friday. We are looking for a cheerful, dedicated individual who will deliver their very best to their coworkers and every patient, every day, during every interaction.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Greet and check-in patients upon arrival, ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations and referrals for procedures
- Prep Charge Slips
- Collect patient co-pays and process payments
- Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of medical information
- Scan patient documents, imaging, and paper charts into the EMR system
- Coordinate referrals to specialists as needed
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations
- Display Positive and Team player attitude at all times
- Complete other administrative duties as directed
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Availability of 8:00AM-5:00PM
- Three year's experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining patient records
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of EMR system preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
- Dependable transportation
