Recruiter Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a recruiter in Utah?
Recruiting in Utah does not require a state-issued license, so the path typically starts with a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field. Many Utah employers value professional credentials such as the SHRM-CP or PHR, offered through the Society for Human Resource Management and the HR Certification Institute respectively. Gaining experience in HR coordination or administrative roles at Utah companies is a common entry point into a full recruiting career.
How much do recruiters make in Utah?
Recruiters in Utah earn a median of about $71,750 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $46,800 for the lowest 10% to over $123,780 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire recruiters in Utah?
Utah recruiter roles are posted by Kelso Industries, Audiohook, and Becklar and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Utah's mix of major tech campuses in the Silicon Slopes corridor, large healthcare systems, and defense contractors creates consistent demand for recruiters with specialized knowledge in those sectors.
Which Utah cities have the most recruiter jobs?
Salt Lake City, Draper, and Lehi have the most recruiter openings in Utah. Salt Lake City drives the largest share of postings as the state's commercial and healthcare hub, while Provo and Lehi benefit from the dense concentration of technology companies in the Silicon Slopes corridor that require continuous technical recruiting support.
Are there remote recruiter jobs in Utah?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 31% of recruiter openings tied to Utah are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the work, including candidate outreach, screening calls, and ATS management, is conducted entirely online. Technical and corporate recruiting roles tend to offer the most remote flexibility, while on-site or embedded HR positions at manufacturing and healthcare facilities are more likely to require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a recruiter in Utah with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an HR coordinator or talent acquisition assistant role, which large Utah employers like Intermountain Health, the University of Utah, and major Silicon Slopes tech firms post regularly for candidates without full recruiting experience. Staffing agencies operating in Salt Lake City and Provo are also known for hiring junior recruiters and training them on the job. Earning an SHRM-CP or completing a SHRM Essentials of HR Management course strengthens an application when direct experience is limited.
Where can I find and apply to recruiter jobs in Utah?
You can find and apply to recruiter jobs in Utah on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring across the state. Search the listings to identify roles that match your background, experience level, and preferred location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
