Project Assistant Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a project assistant in Utah?
Most project assistant roles in Utah require at least an associate degree, with employers in technology and construction preferring a bachelor's in business, construction management, or a related field. Utah does not require a state-issued license for this role. Candidates who hold or are pursuing a Certified Associate in Project Management credential gain a concrete edge with Utah employers in government contracting, healthcare, and defense sectors.
Which companies hire project assistants in Utah?
Employers hiring project assistants in Utah right now include Quanta Services, M. J. ELECTRIC, and Granite Construction, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Utah's concentration of defense contractors, large health systems, and technology firms creates consistent demand for project support staff throughout the year.
Which Utah cities have the most project assistant jobs?
Salt Lake City, Provo, and Eagle Mountain have the most project assistant openings in Utah. Salt Lake City drives the largest share of demand as the state's commercial and government hub, while Provo's tech corridor and Ogden's defense and manufacturing base generate steady openings beyond the metro core.
Are there remote project assistant jobs in Utah?
Yes, and they're more common than in many comparable roles. About 0% of project assistant openings tied to Utah are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves documentation, scheduling, and coordination rather than physical presence. Administrative and software-focused project assistant positions tend to offer the most remote flexibility.
How can I get hired as a project assistant in Utah with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to administrative coordinator or project coordinator associate roles at Utah's large employers, including Intermountain Health, which runs structured administrative pathways, and Utah-based defense contractors that post entry-level project support positions. A Certified Associate in Project Management or completion of a project management certificate through Utah Valley University or Salt Lake Community College strengthens an application considerably. Lateral moves from roles like executive assistant, office coordinator, or construction scheduler are widely accepted starting points in Utah's market.
Where can I find and apply to project assistant jobs in Utah?
