Tips for Your Regional Account Executive Job Search
Quantify territory revenue on your resume
Hiring managers for regional account executive roles scan for numbers first. Replace vague phrases like 'grew accounts' with the actual revenue you managed, the percentage you exceeded quota, and the number of accounts in your territory. Specifics beat adjectives every time.
Filter openings by industry vertical
Regional account executive roles in SaaS carry different expectations than those in med-tech or logistics. Target listings where your prior industry experience aligns directly, because hiring teams almost always prefer candidates who already know their buyer's day-to-day pain points.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists regional account executive openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Tailor your resume to territory size
Some listings define 'regional' as a single metro, others as a multi-state patch. Read the job description for territory scope, then mirror that language in your resume so your experience at scale reads as an obvious match rather than an assumption the recruiter has to make.
Prepare a deal-story framework for interviews
Interviewers almost always ask you to walk through a notable win. Structure your answer around the account's initial situation, the specific actions you took, and the measurable outcome. Having two or three deal stories ready in this format lets you adapt on the fly.
Negotiate on-target earnings, not just base
Regional account executive offers vary widely in how commission is structured. Before accepting, ask for the quota attainment rate across the team and the average time to first commission check, not just the OTE headline number, so you can compare offers accurately.
Regional Account Executive Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most regional account executives?
The companies hiring the most regional account executives right now include Sodexo, Walgreens, and Redis, with the largest share of openings in California, Massachusetts, and Texas, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Industries such as SaaS, healthcare technology, and financial services tend to post the highest volume of regional account executive roles year-round.
How many regional account executive jobs are remote?
About 53% of regional account executive openings are fully remote or hybrid as of June 2026, though many listings still require regular travel within a defined territory even when the home base is flexible. Inside-sales and SaaS-focused regional account executive roles tend to offer the most remote flexibility compared to field-heavy roles in manufacturing or medical devices.
How do you become a regional account executive?
Most regional account executives start in an inside sales, sales development, or account management role where they build prospecting and closing skills. From there, moving into a territory-based quota-carrying position is the standard next step. Demonstrating consistent quota attainment, learning to manage a pipeline independently, and developing deep knowledge of one vertical or buyer type are the practical steps that lead to a regional account executive title.
Can you get hired as a regional account executive with little experience?
Some companies hire candidates with limited formal sales experience into junior regional account executive roles, especially in high-growth SaaS or staffing, provided they can show strong communication skills and a coachable mindset in the interview. Framing any customer-facing work, such as retail, recruiting, or client services, as evidence of persuasion and relationship management strengthens an application significantly for these entry-level openings.
What does the regional account executive interview process look like?
The process typically starts with a recruiter screen focused on your sales background and quota history, followed by a hiring manager call where you'll walk through your pipeline management style and a recent deal. Later rounds often include a mock discovery call or presentation to a panel, and finalists usually speak with a regional director or VP of sales before an offer is extended.
Where can I find and apply to regional account executive jobs?
You can find and apply to regional account executive jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from across the United States in one place. Search the listings for roles that match your industry background and territory preferences, then apply directly to each opening that fits.
