Summary: HCGi is seeking a motivated and results-driven Technology Outside
Sales/Account Manager to join our team with a preference for specialized expertise in
government and education clients. The ideal candidate will have experience in IT sales
including offerings from HP, Dell, Lenovo, Microsoft, etc. Also, a strong understanding of data
center offerings from companies including Dell, NetApp, HPE, etc. is recommended. You will
build relationships with clients, understanding their technical needs, and will sell hardware,
software, and services. You will be responsible for identifying prospects, nurturing leads,
closing new business, and helping clients find scalable technology solutions to meet their
business goals.
- Prospect, identify, and qualify new business opportunities for technology solutions.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of potential clients through outbound calling, networking,
- Conduct discovery meetings to assess client needs and develop tailored solutions.
- Present proposals, host product demos, and close deals to meet or exceed sales
- Collaborate with technical teams to scope solutions and create accurate proposals.
- Maintain CRM records with up-to-date notes, activities, and pipeline status.
- Provide ongoing client relationship management, including upselling and cross-selling
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitors.
- 2+ years of experience in IT sales, preferably in government or education
- 4+ years of total sales experience
- Strong understanding of IT technology products, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Experience using CRM tools (Salesforce, Pipedrive, HubSpot, Zoho, etc.).
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology, or related field (preferred but
not required).
- Existing network or book of business in local government and education businesses.
- Familiarity with solution selling or consultative sales methodologies.
- Strong understanding of the technology industry, practices, and standards.
- Technical knowledge or certifications in IT is a plus.

Salary: $65,000+ per year (commensurate with experience) plus highly incentivized
commission structure
