Regional Account Manager Jobs in Maryland: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a regional account manager in Maryland?
Most regional account managers in Maryland enter the role through a combination of a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field and several years in sales, client services, or account coordination. Maryland does not require a state-issued license for most account management roles, though those selling insurance or certain financial products must hold a Maryland-issued license through the Maryland Insurance Administration or FINRA registration. Building a record of quota attainment and client retention is the clearest path to promotion into regional management.
How much do regional account managers make in Maryland?
Regional account managers in Maryland earn a median of about $137,150 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $67,270 for the lowest 10% to over $257,350 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire regional account managers in Maryland?
Maryland regional account manager roles are posted by Sodexo, Alertus, and Right Traffic and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Maryland's concentration of federal contractors, life sciences firms, and financial institutions means regional account manager openings tend to cluster around employers with long-standing government or enterprise client bases in the Baltimore-Washington corridor.
Which Maryland cities have the most regional account manager jobs?
Baltimore, Maryland, and Easton have the most regional account manager openings in Maryland right now. Baltimore drives the largest share through its anchor industries in healthcare, financial services, and logistics, while Bethesda and Rockville benefit from the dense corridor of federal agencies, defense contractors, and biotech firms that have built sustained regional sales operations along the I-270 technology corridor.
Are there remote regional account manager jobs in Maryland?
Yes, and more than many sales roles, because regional account managers often work from a home base and travel to clients rather than reporting to a central office. About 100% of regional account manager openings tied to Maryland are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the territory-based nature of the work. The most remote-friendly segments tend to be software, managed services, and federal technology accounts, where client interactions frequently happen virtually.
How can I get hired as a regional account manager in Maryland with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a sales development representative or account coordinator at a Maryland-based employer and building a measurable record of pipeline generation or client retention before moving into a regional role. Large Maryland employers in defense contracting, life sciences, and financial services, including firms headquartered in the Baltimore-Washington corridor, regularly hire entry-level account associates and rotate them through client teams. Earning a Salesforce Administrator certification or completing a structured sales training program gives candidates a concrete edge, and lateral moves from customer success or inside sales roles are common stepping stones.
Where can I find and apply to regional account manager jobs in Maryland?
You can find and apply to regional account manager jobs in Maryland on Migrate Mate, which lists current Maryland openings updated in real time. Search the listings to find roles that match your industry background, territory preference, and experience level, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
