Sales Account Manager Jobs in Ohio: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales account manager in Ohio?
Most Ohio employers hire sales account managers with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field, though some accept equivalent experience in lieu of a degree. Ohio does not require a state-issued license for general sales account management roles. Candidates typically build their path through inside sales or business development representative positions, then advance by demonstrating consistent quota attainment. Pursuing certifications like Certified Professional Sales Person can strengthen an application with larger Ohio employers.
How much do sales account managers make in Ohio?
Sales account managers in Ohio earn a median of about $135,510 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $74,190 for the lowest 10% to over $251,110 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales account managers in Ohio?
Employers hiring sales account managers in Ohio right now include T-Mobile, Red Bull, and SunSource, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Ohio's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, large healthcare systems, and manufacturing companies creates sustained demand for experienced account managers across multiple industries.
Which Ohio cities have the most sales account manager jobs?
Columbus, Cincinnati, and Cleveland have the most sales account manager openings in Ohio. Columbus draws the largest share of postings because of its dense cluster of insurance, technology, and retail headquarters, while Cleveland's manufacturing and healthcare corridor and Cincinnati's consumer goods and logistics base generate strong hiring in their own right.
Are there remote sales account manager jobs in Ohio?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 68% of sales account manager openings tied to Ohio are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the role centers on phone, video, and email-based client communication. The most fully remote postings tend to be in SaaS, software, and insurance lines of business where the product is sold digitally rather than on-site.
How can I get hired as a sales account manager in Ohio with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a business development representative or inside sales role first, then moving into account management once you have a demonstrable record of hitting call and pipeline targets. Large Ohio employers like ADP, Cintas, and Paychex run structured new-hire sales training programs that accept candidates without prior sales experience. A bachelor's degree in business or marketing, a clean CRM proficiency, or even completion of a sales fundamentals certificate gives Ohio candidates a meaningful edge in those entry-level pipelines.
Where can I find and apply to sales account manager jobs in Ohio?
You can find and apply to sales account manager jobs in Ohio on Migrate Mate, which lists current Ohio openings updated regularly. Find the roles that fit your experience and target industry, then apply directly to each one.
