Sales Engineering Manager Jobs in Nebraska: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales engineering manager in Nebraska?
Most Nebraska employers require a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a closely related technical discipline, combined with several years of individual sales engineering experience before moving into a management role. There is no state-issued license specific to sales engineering managers in Nebraska. Candidates typically build credibility through professional engineering certifications relevant to their industry, such as those offered by IEEE or industry-specific vendors, and by demonstrating a record of closing complex technical deals before transitioning into team leadership.
How much do sales engineering managers make in Nebraska?
Sales engineering managers in Nebraska earn a median of about $126,990 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $72,410 for the lowest 10% to over $227,870 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales engineering managers in Nebraska?
Companies currently hiring sales engineering managers in Nebraska include CVS Health, Terracon Consultants, and Mutual of Omaha, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Nebraska's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters in Omaha, alongside strong manufacturing and agricultural technology employers across the state, means demand is spread across multiple sectors rather than centered in a single industry.
Which Nebraska cities have the most sales engineering manager jobs?
Omaha, Lincoln, and Nebraska hold the most sales engineering manager openings in Nebraska. Omaha leads because it is home to major corporate headquarters in insurance, finance, telecommunications, and logistics, while Lincoln benefits from its concentration of technology firms, state government contractors, and university-affiliated research organizations that generate consistent demand for technical sales leadership.
Are there remote sales engineering manager jobs in Nebraska?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely analytical roles because the position typically involves on-site client demos, team coaching, and regional travel. About 52% of sales engineering manager openings tied to Nebraska are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, which reflects the role's hands-on nature. Strategy, forecasting, and internal team management tasks are the portions most likely to be performed remotely when a hybrid arrangement is offered.
How can I get hired as a sales engineering manager in Nebraska with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is to enter as a sales engineer or technical sales representative and build team leadership experience from within. Large Nebraska employers in telecommunications, automation, and enterprise software regularly promote individual contributors who demonstrate mentorship ability and cross-functional collaboration. Pursuing a project management or engineering certification, building a portfolio of successful technical proposals, and targeting associate sales engineering manager openings at Omaha-based employers gives candidates without prior direct management experience a competitive edge.
Where can I find and apply to sales engineering manager jobs in Nebraska?
You can find and apply to sales engineering manager jobs in Nebraska on Migrate Mate, which lists current Nebraska openings updated regularly. Find roles that fit your experience and target industry, then apply directly to each employer through the listing.
