Sales Jobs in Wisconsin: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales professional in Wisconsin?
Most sales roles in Wisconsin require a high school diploma at minimum, though a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field strengthens your candidacy significantly. Wisconsin does not require a general sales license, but roles in insurance sales require passing the Wisconsin insurance licensing exam administered through the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance. For most other sales positions, building product knowledge and CRM experience is the most direct path to getting hired.
Which companies hire sales professionals in Wisconsin?
Companies currently hiring saless in Wisconsin include Kohl's, Edina Realty, and AutoZone, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Wisconsin's strong base of insurance carriers, manufacturing firms, and healthcare technology companies means sales hiring remains active across multiple sectors throughout the year.
Which Wisconsin cities have the most sales jobs?
Madison, Milwaukee, and Appleton are the Wisconsin cities with the most sales openings. Milwaukee leads because of its dense concentration of financial services firms, manufacturing headquarters, and healthcare systems, while Madison's tech and university-driven economy supports strong demand for software and healthcare technology sales, and Green Bay's regional manufacturing and food industry employers generate steady territory sales hiring.
Are there remote sales jobs in Wisconsin?
Yes, and more than many fields, particularly for inside sales, software sales, and account management roles that do not require in-person client visits. About 22% of sales openings tied to Wisconsin are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly the industry has adopted flexible arrangements. Roles in field sales, medical device sales, or industrial territory management still typically require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a sales professional in Wisconsin with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for sales development representative or inside sales associate roles, which Wisconsin employers including Northwestern Mutual, American Family Insurance, and regional manufacturing distributors post regularly for candidates without a long sales history. Completing a Wisconsin technical college program in business or marketing, or earning an entry-level insurance license through the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance, gives candidates a concrete edge. Lateral moves from customer service, retail management, or account coordination roles at Wisconsin companies are also a well-established door into full sales positions.
Where can I find and apply to sales jobs in Wisconsin?
You can find and apply to sales jobs in Wisconsin on Migrate Mate, which lists current Wisconsin openings across industries and experience levels. Search for roles that fit your background and location, then apply directly to the ones that match your experience and the type of sales work you want to do.
