Sales Manager Jobs in Wisconsin: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales manager in Wisconsin?
Most Wisconsin employers require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field along with several years of individual sales experience before promoting into a management role. Wisconsin does not issue a state license for sales managers in most industries, so the path runs through demonstrated performance as an individual contributor, followed by applying to team lead or assistant manager postings at Wisconsin-based companies. Industry-specific credentials such as the Certified Sales Leadership Professional designation can strengthen a candidacy.
How much do sales managers make in Wisconsin?
Sales managers in Wisconsin earn a median of about $134,870 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $76,330 for the lowest 10% to over $222,110 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales managers in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin sales manager roles are posted by AutoZone, La-Z-Boy, and Vivo Infusion and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Wisconsin's mix of Fortune 500 manufacturers, financial services firms, and regional distributors means sales manager openings appear across a wide range of industries and company sizes throughout the state.
Which Wisconsin cities have the most sales manager jobs?
Milwaukee, Green Bay, and Madison account for the largest share of sales manager openings in Wisconsin. Milwaukee leads because of its dense concentration of corporate headquarters, financial services firms, and distribution operations, while Madison's technology and healthcare sectors drive consistent demand, and Green Bay's manufacturing and food-processing employers round out the top markets.
Are there remote sales manager jobs in Wisconsin?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely desk-based fields, since sales manager roles often require in-person coaching, territory visits, and client relationship work. About 50% of sales manager openings tied to Wisconsin are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with the remote share concentrated in roles overseeing inside sales teams or national accounts rather than field-based territory positions.
How can I get hired as a sales manager in Wisconsin with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is to build a strong individual contributor record first, then apply for team lead or senior account executive roles at Wisconsin employers such as Northwestern Mutual, Uline, or regional distributors that run structured development programs for high-performing reps. Many Wisconsin manufacturers and insurance carriers use rotational sales programs as pipelines into management. Earning a Certified Sales Leadership Professional credential or completing a sales management certificate through the University of Wisconsin system signals readiness to hiring teams before you have the title.
Where can I find and apply to sales manager jobs in Wisconsin?
You can find and apply to sales manager jobs in Wisconsin on Migrate Mate, which lists current Wisconsin openings updated in real time. Search the roles that fit your background, whether that's a specific industry, city, or seniority level, and apply directly to the ones that match your experience.
