- Direct DOT experience, with established relationships you can name and draw on from day one.
- Demonstrated experience growing existing accounts, expanding scope, adding programs, and extending long-term work.
- A consultative, advisory approach, with the ability to hold strategic conversations with senior agency leadership.
- Comfort with long acquisition cycles, which typically run eighteen months to two years and occasionally longer.
- Willingness and enthusiasm to travel frequently. Our business is built on face-to-face trust.
- A background as an engineer, planner, or data or asset management leader within a DOT is preferred.

Many Wisconsin employers also value candidates who have advanced through agency or corporate client-services roles, progressively taking on larger books of business. Earning certifications in project management or digital marketing strengthens a candidacy considerably.
How much do account directors make in Wisconsin?
Account directors in Wisconsin earn a median of about $64,020 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $39,900 for the lowest 10% to over $123,280 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire account directors in Wisconsin?
Companies currently hiring account directors in Wisconsin include Madison Avenue Worldwide, CVS Health, and Kohler, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Wisconsin's concentration of insurance carriers, financial services firms, and regional advertising agencies means account director openings appear regularly across both corporate and agency environments throughout the state.
Which Wisconsin cities have the most account director jobs?
Dodgeville, Wisconsin, and Kohler lead Wisconsin for account director openings. Milwaukee's density of corporate headquarters in insurance, manufacturing, and professional services drives the largest share of postings, while Madison's mix of technology firms and state-government contractors generates consistent demand, and Green Bay's manufacturing and regional agency sector rounds out the top markets.
Are there remote account director jobs in Wisconsin?
