Sales Manager Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales manager in Pennsylvania?
Most sales manager roles in Pennsylvania require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a closely related field, combined with several years of direct sales experience before moving into management. Pennsylvania does not require a state-issued license specifically to work as a sales manager, though roles in financial services may require FINRA Series licenses and pharmaceutical roles often require industry-specific certifications. Employers across Pennsylvania consistently promote high-performing individual contributors who have built a record in their sector.
How much do sales managers make in Pennsylvania?
Sales managers in Pennsylvania earn a median of about $130,610 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $71,500 for the lowest 10% to over $239,470 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales managers in Pennsylvania?
Employers hiring sales managers in Pennsylvania right now include AutoZone, Uline, and Comcast, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Pennsylvania's deep concentration of healthcare systems, energy companies, and industrial manufacturers means demand for sales managers is spread across the state rather than limited to one sector.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most sales manager jobs?
Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Harrisburg have the most sales manager openings in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia drives volume through its dense mix of financial services, life sciences, and technology firms, Pittsburgh contributes through energy, advanced manufacturing, and healthcare, and the Lehigh Valley adds openings tied to large distribution, logistics, and regional corporate headquarters that use Pennsylvania as a mid-Atlantic hub.
Are there remote sales manager jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, though they are less common than in purely desk-based fields because sales manager roles typically involve direct team coaching, client visits, and territory oversight. About 47% of sales manager openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with remote arrangements most common in SaaS, media, and national account roles where clients are distributed and field presence is less critical.
How can I get hired as a sales manager in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from a high-performing individual contributor role into a team lead or assistant manager position with a Pennsylvania employer that promotes from within. Large regional employers in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, including healthcare distributors, insurance carriers, and industrial suppliers, regularly run associate sales programs and rotational cohorts for candidates without formal management experience. Building fluency with a CRM platform and completing a FINRA Series 63 or industry-specific certification signals readiness to Pennsylvania hiring managers before you have a full management tenure behind you.
Where can I find and apply to sales manager jobs in Pennsylvania?
You can find and apply to sales manager jobs in Pennsylvania on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring across the state right now. Search the roles available, find the ones that match your background and target location, and apply directly to each one.
