Account Executive Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a account executive in Pennsylvania?
Most account executive roles in Pennsylvania require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a closely related field, though some employers accept equivalent experience in lieu of a degree. Pennsylvania does not require a state-issued license specifically for account executives outside of regulated industries like insurance, where candidates must pass the Pennsylvania state insurance producer exam administered through the Pennsylvania Insurance Department. Building experience in inside sales, sales development, or client services roles at Pennsylvania companies is the most common path to landing a full account executive position.
Which companies hire account executives in Pennsylvania?
Employers hiring account executives in Pennsylvania right now include Hibu, Medical Services of America, and AbbVie, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Pennsylvania's concentration of large healthcare systems, enterprise technology firms, and financial services companies means demand for account executives with industry-specific knowledge is especially strong across the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh metro areas.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most account executive jobs?
Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Pennsylvania are the Pennsylvania cities with the most account executive openings, driven by the concentration of corporate headquarters, regional offices, and anchor institutions in those markets. Philadelphia leads because of its dense cluster of healthcare networks, insurance carriers, and enterprise technology firms, while Pittsburgh's growing tech and financial sectors and the Lehigh Valley's logistics and healthcare corridor generate strong ongoing demand as well.
Are there remote account executive jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, and more than most fields. Account executive work is largely communication and relationship-driven, which makes it well suited to remote arrangements. About 82% of account executive openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly distributed this role's client base can be. Fully remote positions tend to cluster in SaaS, cloud technology, and insurance verticals, while roles in healthcare systems and manufacturing accounts more often require on-site or regional travel.
How can I get hired as a account executive in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a sales development representative or inside sales role at a Pennsylvania-based technology, healthcare, or financial services company, which provides structured training and a pipeline into account executive positions. Large employers like Comcast, Independence Blue Cross, and regional insurance agencies run associate sales programs and rotational training tracks that accept candidates without prior sales experience. Building a portfolio of cold outreach, mock discovery calls, or relevant certifications such as HubSpot Sales or Salesforce Trailhead credentials signals readiness to Pennsylvania hiring managers evaluating candidates from adjacent roles like customer success, account coordination, or retail management.
Where can I find and apply to account executive jobs in Pennsylvania?
You can find and apply to account executive jobs in Pennsylvania on Migrate Mate, which lists current Pennsylvania openings from employers actively hiring right now. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your background and target industry, and apply directly without any additional steps.
