Enterprise Sales Director Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a enterprise sales director in Pennsylvania?
Becoming an enterprise sales director in Pennsylvania does not require a state-issued license or government credential, but employers consistently expect a bachelor's degree in business, technology, or a related discipline alongside a substantial enterprise sales career. Most candidates progress through account executive or senior account executive roles at Pennsylvania-based technology, healthcare IT, or financial services companies before stepping into director-level responsibilities. Building a record of closing large, multi-stakeholder deals in the state's dominant verticals strengthens candidacy considerably.
How much do enterprise sales directors make in Pennsylvania?
Enterprise sales directors in Pennsylvania earn a median of about $130,610 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $71,500 for the lowest 10% to over $239,470 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire enterprise sales directors in Pennsylvania?
Employers hiring enterprise sales directors in Pennsylvania right now include Fivetran, Cencora, and Koppers, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Pennsylvania's concentration of major healthcare systems, financial institutions, and enterprise technology firms means demand for this role remains consistent across the Philadelphia metro and the Greater Pittsburgh corridor.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most enterprise sales director jobs?
Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Lancaster account for the greatest concentration of enterprise sales director openings in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia leads due to its density of Fortune 500 headquarters, healthcare networks, and financial services firms, while Pittsburgh's growing technology and life sciences sectors drive steady demand, and suburban markets like King of Prussia attract regional and national technology companies with large mid-Atlantic sales teams.
Are there remote enterprise sales director jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, and more than most fields. Enterprise sales director work is highly portable since client engagement, pipeline management, and executive selling are conducted largely through digital communication and travel rather than on-site presence. About 60% of enterprise sales director openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of September 2026. Strategic account management and new business development functions tend to carry the greatest remote flexibility within this role.
How can I get hired as a enterprise sales director in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing a quota-carrying account executive role at a Pennsylvania-based technology, healthcare IT, or financial services company and building a verifiable record of closing enterprise-sized deals. Companies such as Comcast Business and large regional healthcare IT vendors in the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh areas regularly hire associate or mid-market account executives who can grow into enterprise director positions. Moving laterally from business development management or sales engineering roles also provides a credible path, particularly when paired with a consistent record of multi-stakeholder deal management.
