Sales Consultant Jobs in Wisconsin: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales consultant in Wisconsin?
Most Wisconsin employers expect at minimum a high school diploma, though a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is strongly preferred for professional sales consultant roles. Insurance sales consultants must hold a Wisconsin-issued insurance producer license, obtained through the Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance after passing a state-approved exam. Other sales consulting specialties, such as financial products or securities, may require FINRA licensing, which Wisconsin employers commonly sponsor upon hire.
Which companies hire sales consultants in Wisconsin?
Companies currently hiring sales consultants in Wisconsin include Prime Communications, CarMax, and Acculevel, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Wisconsin's mix of financial services headquarters, regional manufacturing firms, and healthcare distributors means sales consultant roles appear across a wide range of industries and company sizes throughout the state.
Which Wisconsin cities have the most sales consultant jobs?
Madison, Milwaukee, and Kenosha account for the largest share of sales consultant openings in Wisconsin. Milwaukee dominates because of its dense concentration of financial services firms, insurance carriers, and B2B technology companies, while Madison's government, healthcare, and university-adjacent markets drive consistent hiring, and Green Bay's logistics and manufacturing base supports strong regional sales demand.
Are there remote sales consultant jobs in Wisconsin?
Yes, and they're more common than in many sales roles, particularly for inside sales and software or financial services consulting positions. About 20% of sales consultant openings tied to Wisconsin are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how frequently the role centers on phone, video, and digital client engagement. Field and territory-based consultant roles, especially in industrial or healthcare product sales, remain predominantly on-site or travel-heavy.
How can I get hired as a sales consultant in Wisconsin with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to associate or junior sales representative positions at Wisconsin's large insurance carriers and financial services firms, many of which run structured new-hire training programs. Northwestern Mutual and American Family Insurance, both headquartered in Wisconsin, regularly recruit and train candidates without prior sales experience. Customer service, retail banking, and inside support roles at these same employers are common lateral moves that lead directly to consultant titles within one to two years.
Where can I find and apply to sales consultant jobs in Wisconsin?
You can find and apply to sales consultant jobs in Wisconsin on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from Wisconsin employers across industries and experience levels. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match.
