Solutions Director Jobs in Ohio: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a solutions director in Ohio?
Most solutions director roles in Ohio require a bachelor's degree in business, information technology, or a related field, plus several years of progressively senior experience in solutions consulting, sales engineering, or account management. Ohio does not issue a state license for this role. Employers in Columbus and Cleveland typically look for candidates who have led enterprise deals or delivery programs and can demonstrate measurable client outcomes, making a strong portfolio and leadership track the practical credential that matters most.
Which companies hire solutions directors in Ohio?
Employers hiring solutions directors in Ohio right now include Vaco, C3 AI, and Vertiv, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Ohio's mix of Fortune 500 headquarters, regional insurance carriers, and expanding healthcare IT firms creates steady demand for solutions leadership across both commercial and public-sector accounts.
Which Ohio cities have the most solutions director jobs?
Dayton, Ohio, and Ohio are the Ohio cities with the most solutions director openings, reflecting the state's concentration of corporate headquarters, health systems, and technology services firms. Columbus drives the largest share of postings given its density of insurance, fintech, and enterprise software companies, while Cleveland and Cincinnati contribute significantly through their manufacturing, healthcare, and professional services sectors.
Are there remote solutions director jobs in Ohio?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 50% of solutions director openings tied to Ohio are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the consultative and relationship-management nature of the role. Strategic planning, client discovery, and pipeline reviews transfer well to remote settings, though some employers require on-site presence for key account meetings or team leadership responsibilities.
How can I get hired as a solutions director in Ohio with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a solutions associate or solutions engineer role at a mid-size Ohio technology or healthcare IT firm and building toward director-level responsibility from there. Companies like Nationwide and Cardinal Health run structured rotational and development programs that move high performers from individual contributor roles into leadership tracks. Adjacent roles such as account manager, pre-sales consultant, or customer success manager are the most common lateral moves. Building a record of closed enterprise deals or measurable client expansions, even in a junior capacity, carries more weight than any additional credential.
Where can I find and apply to solutions director jobs in Ohio?
You can find and apply to solutions director jobs in Ohio on Migrate Mate, which lists current Ohio openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your experience and target market, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
