Strategy Associate Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a strategy associate in Massachusetts?
Most strategy associate roles in Massachusetts require a bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, or a quantitative field, with a master's degree or MBA preferred for more senior positions. No state-issued license is required for this role. Boston-area employers, particularly in consulting and healthcare systems, typically recruit through campus programs at universities such as Harvard, MIT, and Boston University, and expect candidates to demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills through case interviews or work samples.
Which companies hire strategy associates in Massachusetts?
Employers hiring strategy associates in Massachusetts right now include Takeda Pharmaceuticals, PwC, and Biogen, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Massachusetts's dense concentration of consulting firms, major hospital systems, and financial services companies means hiring is distributed across both large institutions and mid-size regional firms.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most strategy associate jobs?
Boston, Cambridge, and Waltham have the most strategy associate openings in Massachusetts. Boston drives the largest share of demand given its concentration of management consulting headquarters, major hospital networks, and financial services firms, while Cambridge benefits from its proximity to life sciences and technology companies, and Waltham has grown as a hub for healthcare and insurance employers based along Route 128.
Are there remote strategy associate jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, and more than many fields, since strategy associate work is largely analytical and presentation-based rather than on-site. About 87% of strategy associate openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how broadly desk-based this role is. The portions of the job involving independent financial modeling, research, and slide preparation are most commonly done remotely, while stakeholder presentations and team workshops tend to remain in person.
How can I get hired as a strategy associate in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a structured analyst or associate program at a Boston-area consulting firm, hospital system, or financial services company. Employers such as Bain & Company, Partners Healthcare, and Fidelity Investments run new-graduate associate programs that bring in candidates directly from undergraduate or MBA programs. Lateral moves from roles such as financial analyst, business analyst, or operations analyst are common. Building a portfolio of case frameworks or data-driven projects and completing a relevant internship during school significantly strengthens candidacy.
Where can I find and apply to strategy associate jobs in Massachusetts?
You can find and apply to strategy associate jobs in Massachusetts on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across Boston, Cambridge, Waltham, and other Massachusetts locations. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to each employer through the listings.
