Supply Chain Jobs in Vermont: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a supply chain professional in Vermont?
Vermont does not require a state-issued license for supply chain roles, so entry depends on education and credentials recognized by employers. Most Vermont hiring managers expect at minimum an associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or business. Industry certifications like the APICS CPIM or CSCP carry significant weight with larger Vermont employers in manufacturing and healthcare. Relevant internship or co-op experience, particularly with Vermont-based food producers or distributors, strengthens early-career applications considerably.
Which companies hire supply chains in Vermont?
Vermont supply chain roles are posted by Hazelett Corporation, Aon, and Ryder System and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Vermont's food manufacturing sector, anchored by cooperatives and specialty producers, along with its healthcare and energy institutions, generates the most consistent year-round supply chain openings in the state.
Which Vermont cities have the most supply chain jobs?
Colchester, Richmond, and Shelburne have the most supply chain openings in Vermont. Burlington dominates because it is home to the state's largest hospital system, regional distribution infrastructure, and a concentration of technology and food companies, while smaller metros like Montpelier and Rutland draw demand from state government procurement and manufacturing operations anchored in central and southern Vermont.
Are there remote supply chain jobs in Vermont?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely desk-based fields, since many supply chain roles involve on-site warehouse, manufacturing, or vendor oversight work. About 0% of supply chain openings tied to Vermont are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with flexibility most often available for procurement analysts, demand planners, and logistics coordinators whose work is primarily data and communications driven.
How can I get hired as a supply chain professional in Vermont with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to inventory associate, purchasing assistant, or operations coordinator roles at Vermont's larger food manufacturers and healthcare systems, which regularly hire candidates without direct supply chain experience. The University of Vermont Medical Center and manufacturers like Cabot Creamery onboard entry-level operations staff who rotate through supply chain functions. Completing an APICS Basics of Supply Chain Management course and gaining exposure to any ERP platform, even through coursework, meaningfully improves a first-application profile in Vermont's smaller, relationship-driven hiring market.
Where can I find and apply to supply chain jobs in Vermont?
You can find and apply to supply chain jobs in Vermont on Migrate Mate, which lists current Vermont openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your experience and preferred location, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
