As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $138000 - $198000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage multiple, simultaneous complex technical WAN (Wide Area Network) projects from inception through completion, ensure requirements are complete and scope is well defined for your projects.
- Work closely with various Partners, Global Network Delivery (GND), Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), Product Area Research Managers (PARMs), Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and Operational Teams. Distill their networking needs and execute them cross-functionally in an efficient and scalable fashion.
- Execute operational service level agreements/objectives (SLA/SLO) by partnering with data centers, data center software teams, supply chain, logistics, fleet deployment and planning organizations.
- Overcome challenges to keep processes running smoothly, define and develop cross-team roles, expectations, and responsibilities, drive process development and iterative optimizations.
- Lead WAN networking programs, set priorities for various cross-functional partners, leading teams to execute on projects critical to Google data center network scalability.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in program management.
- Experience working in data center network infrastructure and operations.
- Experience in data center networks, deployment, and WAN related programs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of experience in technical infrastructure and operations, data center, or hardware project management.
- 5 years of experience working with data center networks.
- 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- Experience developing and implementing process improvement solutions in enterprise environments.
