Technical Services Manager Jobs in Indiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a technical services manager in Indiana?
Most Indiana employers require a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field combined with several years of hands-on technical experience before moving into management. Indiana does not impose a state-issued license specific to technical services managers, but roles in regulated industries such as medical devices or utilities may require relevant professional certifications. Building a record in field service, IT support, or operations leadership within Indiana's manufacturing or life sciences sectors is the most reliable path.
How much do technical services managers make in Indiana?
Technical services managers in Indiana earn a median of about $142,040 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $94,780 for the lowest 10% to over $214,590 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire technical services managers in Indiana?
Employers hiring technical services managers in Indiana right now include Eli Lilly, Simtra BioPharma Solutions, and PACIV, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Indiana's dense manufacturing base and growing technology corridor around Indianapolis create steady demand from both large corporations and regional industrial firms.
Which Indiana cities have the most technical services manager jobs?
Indianapolis, Bloomington, and Seymour have the most technical services manager openings in Indiana. Indianapolis dominates because of its concentration of corporate headquarters, logistics hubs, and technology firms, while Fort Wayne and Evansville draw openings from their established manufacturing and industrial equipment sectors.
Are there remote technical services manager jobs in Indiana?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely desk-based fields because the role often requires on-site oversight of technical teams, equipment, or customer facilities. About 67% of technical services manager openings tied to Indiana are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with most flexible arrangements found in IT services and software support management rather than industrial or field service operations.
How can I get hired as a technical services manager in Indiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving up from a hands-on technical role such as field service technician, IT support specialist, or systems engineer, then stepping into a team lead or supervisor position before pursuing manager titles. Large Indiana employers in manufacturing and life sciences, including companies in the Indianapolis life sciences corridor, often promote from within and post associate manager or lead technician roles that serve as clear bridges. Earning a relevant certification in service management or project management strengthens a candidacy when direct management experience is limited.
Where can I find and apply to technical services manager jobs in Indiana?
You can find and apply to technical services manager jobs in Indiana on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from Indiana employers. Search the listings to find roles that match your background, experience level, and preferred location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
