Territory Sales Manager Jobs in Iowa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a territory sales manager in Iowa?
Most territory sales managers in Iowa enter the role after several years in inside sales, account management, or industry-specific roles such as agronomist, financial services representative, or equipment sales associate. Iowa does not require a state-issued license specifically for territory sales management, but roles in insurance-adjacent products may require an Iowa insurance producer license issued through the Iowa Insurance Division. A bachelor's degree in business, agriculture, or marketing strengthens candidacy significantly.
How much do territory sales managers make in Iowa?
Territory sales managers in Iowa earn a median of about $134,010 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $72,130 for the lowest 10% to over $220,770 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire territory sales managers in Iowa?
Employers hiring territory sales managers in Iowa right now include Loffredo Fresh Foods, United Placement, and PPG, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Iowa's deep agricultural economy means many of the most consistent openings come from crop input, equipment, and financial services companies with statewide distribution networks.
Which Iowa cities have the most territory sales manager jobs?
Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, and Iowa have the most territory sales manager openings in Iowa. Des Moines drives volume as the state's largest metro and home to major insurance, financial services, and distribution headquarters, while Cedar Rapids and Davenport anchor the Corridor and Quad Cities markets where manufacturing, logistics, and agribusiness employers maintain active regional sales teams.
Are there remote territory sales manager jobs in Iowa?
Yes, but they're rare. Territory sales management is fundamentally a field role built around in-person client visits, so most positions require regular travel within a defined Iowa geography. About 77% of territory sales manager openings tied to Iowa are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those openings tend to concentrate in the administrative and reporting side of the role rather than client-facing responsibilities.
How can I get hired as a territory sales manager in Iowa with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an inside sales or sales development role at a mid-size Iowa company, then building toward a territory assignment once you have demonstrated quota attainment. Corteva Agriscience and John Deere dealers across Iowa run structured early-career sales programs that rotate candidates through regional accounts. Earning an Iowa insurance producer license also opens territory roles with insurers and financial firms headquartered in Des Moines for candidates without a deep sales history.
Where can I find and apply to territory sales manager jobs in Iowa?
You can find and apply to territory sales manager jobs in Iowa on Migrate Mate, which lists current Iowa openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your experience and target territory, and apply directly to the employer without creating a profile or signing up.
