Maintenance Technician

Job Overview:
Linde is seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician to support the hydrogen and air separation processes at our McIntosh, AL facility. This role requires a self‑motivated, dependable individual with strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Shift:
4x10 day shift schedule, 06:00–16:30, with overtime and on‑call responsibilities as needed to support operations.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and systems using a variety of hand, power, and machine tools.
- Follow SMP/SOPs within an ISO/QA/PSM/RMP‑regulated environment.
- Disassemble and assemble rotating equipment—pumps, gearboxes, compressors, etc.—to replace bearings, seals, gears, and structural components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, process drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on equipment and mechanical systems.
- Safely troubleshoot, repair, and maintain rotating equipment including compressors, pumps, fans, blowers, boiler systems, valves, and perform equipment alignments.
- Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to plan and execute maintenance activities, procure parts, oversee tasks, and complete documentation.
- Perform repairs on mechanical piping systems, including threaded and welded piping.
- Document and complete predictive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Manage inventory of critical spare parts for mechanical systems.
- Plan, schedule, estimate costs, coordinate, and perform maintenance activities during site outages.
- Support root cause analysis for routine or major equipment failures.
- Contribute to mechanical and process reliability improvements.
- Oversee contractor activities to ensure safe and efficient completion of maintenance work.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and in elevated or confined‑space areas.
- Travel up to 25% as needed for business requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; Associate degree preferred.
- Journeyman millwright, machinist, or welding experience preferred.
- Minimum of 12 months of experience in an industrial or production environment.
- Computer skills required.
- HVAC experience a plus.
- On‑call availability in a 24/7 operating environment. Plant emergencies, outages, shutdowns, and turnaround activities may require work outside the standard Monday–Friday schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
