Which electronics companies sponsor H-1B visas in Florida?
Several large defense and aerospace electronics employers in Florida have active H-1B visa sponsorship histories, including Lockheed Martin, Raytheon Technologies, L3Harris Technologies, and Northrop Grumman. Outside defense, companies like Jabil (a major electronics manufacturing services firm headquartered in St. Petersburg) and Motorola Solutions also file H-1B petitions for Florida-based roles. Sponsorship patterns vary by role, business unit, and hiring cycle, so checking DOL LCA disclosure data for specific employers is worthwhile.
Which cities in Florida have the most electronics H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Orlando and the surrounding Space Coast corridor (including Melbourne and Cape Canaveral) concentrate the highest volume of electronics H-1B roles, driven by aerospace and defense electronics contractors. Tampa and St. Petersburg have a strong electronics manufacturing presence anchored by Jabil and related suppliers. Miami sees demand in telecom hardware and consumer electronics distribution, while Jacksonville hosts electronics roles tied to naval defense and logistics technology.
How do I find electronics H-1B sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, letting you filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface electronics H-1B sponsorship jobs in Florida directly. Rather than manually sorting through general job boards and guessing which postings include sponsorship, Migrate Mate surfaces roles where employers have demonstrated H-1B sponsorship activity, so you can focus on applying to positions that are actually accessible to you.
What types of electronics roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Florida?
Roles that consistently qualify are those requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field, such as electrical engineering, computer engineering, or RF/microwave engineering. Common qualifying titles in Florida include hardware design engineer, embedded systems engineer, RF engineer, PCB design engineer, and avionics systems engineer. Quality and test engineering roles tied to electronics manufacturing also qualify when the position requires specialized degree-level knowledge. General technician roles that accept a range of educational backgrounds are less likely to meet the specialty occupation standard.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for H-1B electronics sponsorship?
Florida's heavy concentration of defense and aerospace electronics employers introduces one important consideration: many H-1B roles at contractors like Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and L3Harris require candidates to be eligible for U.S. security clearances. Most security clearances are restricted to U.S. citizens or permanent residents, which can limit H-1B candidates' access to those specific openings. Roles in commercial electronics manufacturing, telecom hardware, and non-defense engineering are generally not subject to this restriction and are more accessible to H-1B workers.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B electronics jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
