Which fashion and apparel companies sponsor H-1B visas in Georgia?
Atlanta-based companies are the primary source of H-1B sponsorship in Georgia's fashion sector. Carter's, headquartered in Atlanta, has filed H-1B Labor Condition Applications for roles in product development and design. Spanx and other apparel brands with Georgia offices have also sponsored international workers. Reviewing DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data by employer and occupation code gives the clearest picture of which companies actively file.
Which cities in Georgia have the most fashion and apparel H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta accounts for the overwhelming majority of fashion and apparel H-1B sponsorship activity in Georgia. The city's status as a regional retail and corporate hub means most design, merchandising, brand management, and supply chain positions are concentrated there. Savannah has a smaller but emerging apparel manufacturing presence, while the broader metro Atlanta suburbs host distribution and logistics operations tied to national fashion brands.
How do I find fashion and apparel H-1B sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for fashion and apparel H-1B sponsorship jobs in Georgia, surfacing employers with verified DOL Labor Condition Application filing history in the industry. This removes guesswork about which companies genuinely sponsor the visa. You can search by occupation, location, and employer to identify companies that have filed for roles matching your background in design, merchandising, or product management.
What types of fashion and apparel roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship in fashion and apparel is generally available for specialty occupation positions requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Roles that commonly qualify include apparel product developers, textile engineers, fashion designers with technical specializations, merchandise planners, and supply chain analysts. General retail associate or sales floor positions typically do not meet the specialty occupation standard required by USCIS for H-1B classification.
Are there any Georgia-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in fashion and apparel?
Georgia does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal H-1B rules, but employers must comply with DOL prevailing wage standards for the specific metropolitan area where the role is based. For Atlanta-area positions, prevailing wages are benchmarked to the Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Roswell metropolitan statistical area. Employers can verify applicable wage levels using the OFLC Wage Search tool. Georgia's relatively lower cost of operations compared to New York or Los Angeles can make sponsorship more financially accessible for mid-size apparel companies headquartered here.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B fashion & apparel jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
