Which accounting companies sponsor H-1B visas in Georgia?
The largest H-1B visa sponsors in Georgia's accounting sector include the Big Four firms, Deloitte, EY, PwC, and KPMG, all of which have Atlanta offices with documented sponsorship histories. Regional firms such as Aprio and Bennett Thrasher also sponsor H-1B workers. Large corporations headquartered in Georgia, including Coca-Cola, Delta Air Lines, and Home Depot, sponsor H-1B visa holders for in-house accounting and finance roles.
Which cities in Georgia have the most accounting H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta accounts for the substantial majority of accounting H-1B sponsorship activity in Georgia, driven by its concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, Big Four offices, and financial services firms. Alpharetta and Dunwoody, both within the Atlanta metro, host significant corporate accounting operations. Outside metro Atlanta, Savannah has a smaller but active market tied to its port-related commerce and regional professional services firms.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Roles that consistently qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B rules include staff accountant, senior accountant, audit associate, tax associate, financial analyst, forensic accountant, and managerial accountant positions that require at minimum a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a directly related field. General bookkeeping or clerical accounting positions that do not require a specific degree are unlikely to meet the specialty occupation standard for H-1B eligibility.
How do I find accounting H-1B sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters accounting roles in Georgia by H-1B sponsorship willingness, saving you from sorting through listings from employers who do not sponsor. You can browse current openings from Atlanta-area Big Four offices, regional CPA firms, and corporate accounting departments at Georgia-headquartered companies, all pre-screened for sponsorship history and intent.
Are there any Georgia-specific considerations for H-1B accounting professionals?
Georgia does not impose state-level licensing restrictions that uniquely affect H-1B status, but CPA licensure in Georgia requires passing the Uniform CPA Exam and meeting the Georgia State Board of Accountancy's education and experience requirements, which apply equally to international candidates. H-1B status itself does not prevent CPA licensure, but your work authorization must remain valid throughout the licensure process and any supervised experience period.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B accounting jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
