Which media and entertainment companies sponsor H-1B visas in Georgia?
Atlanta is home to several major media employers with H-1B visa sponsorship history, including CNN (part of Warner Bros. Discovery), which maintains a significant editorial and technical workforce there. Tyler Perry Studios and Georgia-based production companies have also filed H-1B petitions for specialized roles. Broadcast networks, streaming content teams, and entertainment technology firms operating in the Atlanta metro regularly appear in Department of Labor disclosure data as H-1B sponsors.
Which cities in Georgia have the most media and entertainment H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta accounts for the overwhelming majority of media and entertainment H-1B sponsorship activity in Georgia. The city's concentration of news networks, film studios, post-production houses, and entertainment technology companies makes it the primary hiring center. Savannah has a smaller but growing film production presence, particularly tied to Georgia's film tax incentive program, though H-1B sponsorship activity there is considerably more limited than in Atlanta.
What types of media and entertainment roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Georgia?
H-1B sponsorship in Georgia's media and entertainment sector tends to concentrate on roles that require a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field. Software engineers and developers working on broadcasting platforms or streaming infrastructure, broadcast engineers, data analysts, UX designers, and post-production technology specialists are among the role types that commonly meet the specialty occupation standard. Purely creative or production roles without a defined degree requirement can be harder to qualify.
How do I find media and entertainment H-1B sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking H-1B sponsorship, and you can filter directly by industry and state to see media and entertainment roles in Georgia. Because sponsorship willingness is one of the biggest barriers in this industry, focusing on employers with a documented H-1B filing history in Georgia, rather than applying broadly, significantly improves your chances of reaching a productive conversation with a hiring team.
Are there any Georgia-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in media and entertainment?
Georgia's film and television production boom, driven in part by state tax incentives, has expanded the local media workforce, but many production roles are project-based or filled by local talent rather than through H-1B sponsorship. Candidates are generally better positioned targeting companies with permanent operations in Georgia, such as broadcast networks or entertainment technology firms headquartered in Atlanta, where employers have the infrastructure to support the H-1B petition process.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B media & entertainment jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
