Which medical devices companies in Georgia sponsor visas?
Major sponsors include Medtronic (spinal devices, Atlanta), Boston Scientific (cardiovascular products, Covington), Baxter International (renal care, multiple locations), and CareFusion (now BD, respiratory devices). Smaller companies like Kyphon Medical and numerous Atlanta-based startups also sponsor H-1B and other work visas for specialized engineering and regulatory positions.
What visa types are most common for medical devices jobs in Georgia?
H-1B visas dominate for engineering roles (biomedical, mechanical, software), regulatory affairs specialists, and quality assurance positions. O-1 visas are used for senior researchers and executives with extraordinary achievements. L-1 transfers are common given many Georgia facilities are branches of multinational device companies. TN visas serve Canadian and Mexican engineers and scientists.
How to find medical devices visa sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate specializes in medical devices sponsorship opportunities throughout Georgia, filtering roles by location and visa sponsorship status. Focus on Atlanta's Technology Square area, the I-285 corridor where many device manufacturers cluster, and research triangle partnerships between companies, Georgia Tech, and Emory University for the highest concentration of sponsoring employers.
Which Georgia cities have the most medical devices visa sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta leads with the highest concentration, particularly in the Technology Square and Midtown areas near major research institutions. Covington hosts significant manufacturing operations, while Augusta benefits from proximity to the Medical College of Georgia. Alpharetta and Johns Creek in north Atlanta also house numerous device companies and their corporate headquarters.
Are prevailing wages competitive for medical devices roles in Georgia?
Georgia's prevailing wages for medical devices positions are generally competitive with national averages, particularly for metropolitan Atlanta. The state's lower cost of living compared to traditional biotech hubs like California or Massachusetts means international workers often see strong purchasing power. Specialized roles like regulatory affairs and senior engineering positions command premium wages.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored medical devices jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
