Which staffing companies sponsor H-1B visas in Illinois?
Several large staffing firms with Illinois operations have filed H-1B visa petitions through the Department of Labor, including Aston Carter, Apex Group, Insight Global, Staffmark, and Kforce. These companies tend to sponsor H-1B workers for internal corporate roles such as IT analysts, business intelligence specialists, and operations managers rather than for the contract positions they place with clients.
Which cities in Illinois have the most staffing H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Chicago accounts for the overwhelming majority of staffing H-1B sponsorship activity in Illinois. The city's dense concentration of corporate headquarters and financial services firms creates consistent demand for staffing companies to maintain sizable internal teams. Suburban markets around Schaumburg, Rosemont, and Downers Grove also generate activity, as several national staffing firms have regional offices in those corridors.
What types of staffing roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship in the staffing industry applies to specialty occupation roles requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. In Illinois, this most commonly covers IT staffing specialists, data analysts, HR technology consultants, workforce planning analysts, and certain talent acquisition roles with a defined technical or analytical function. General recruiting coordinator positions that don't require a degree in a specific discipline typically do not qualify.
How do I find staffing H-1B sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers searching for H-1B sponsorship roles. You can filter directly by visa type, industry, and state to surface staffing and recruiting positions in Illinois from employers with verified sponsorship histories. This saves significant time compared to screening general job postings where sponsorship eligibility is rarely stated upfront.
Are there any Illinois-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in staffing?
Illinois follows federal H-1B rules, but one practical consideration is that staffing firms placing H-1B workers at third-party client sites in Illinois must comply with both the original Labor Condition Application terms and any worksite-specific prevailing wage obligations. Workers placed at client locations in the Chicago metro should confirm that their employer has filed an LCA covering that specific worksite, as the LCA must reflect the actual place of employment.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B staffing jobs in Illinois?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
