Which education employers in Indiana have sponsored E-3 visas?
Indiana's large research universities are among the most active education employers with international hiring history. Indiana University, Purdue University, the University of Notre Dame, and Indiana State University have all filed Labor Condition Applications for academic and professional roles. Larger K-12 districts in Indianapolis and Fort Wayne have also pursued sponsorship for specialized instructional and administrative positions, though university employers file at higher volumes.
Which cities in Indiana have the most education E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Bloomington and West Lafayette are the strongest markets, anchored by Indiana University and Purdue University respectively. Indianapolis offers opportunities across both higher education institutions like IUPUI and a large K-12 system. South Bend benefits from the University of Notre Dame's hiring activity. Fort Wayne and Muncie round out the list as secondary markets with regional universities and growing school district employment.
What types of education roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Indiana?
Roles that qualify for E-3 sponsorship must meet the specialty occupation standard, requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In Indiana's education sector, this commonly includes postsecondary faculty positions, instructional designers, curriculum developers, education researchers, academic advisors with specialized credentials, and student affairs professionals in roles that specify a relevant degree as a formal requirement.
How do I find education E-3 sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate filters education jobs in Indiana specifically by E-3 sponsorship history, using DOL Labor Condition Application data to surface employers who have filed for E-3 workers in education roles. This removes the guesswork of identifying which Indiana universities or school systems are open to Australian candidates. You can filter by city, institution type, and role category to find positions that match your qualifications and E-3 eligibility.
Are there any Indiana-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in education?
Indiana's higher education sector is concentrated around a few flagship research universities, so E-3 candidates benefit from targeting institutions with established international faculty hiring processes. Indiana does not impose additional state-level visa requirements, but education roles in K-12 may require Indiana teaching licensure independent of the E-3 visa. Candidates should confirm that any required state certification is obtainable before committing to a specific role.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 education jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
