Which staffing companies sponsor H-1B visas in Iowa?
Several staffing firms operating in Iowa have filed H-1B Labor Condition Applications, including national staffing companies with Midwest offices and Iowa-based firms like Aureon and Source Allies. IT staffing companies placing contractors at large Iowa employers such as Principal Financial, Hy-Vee, and UnityPoint Health tend to be the most active H-1B sponsors in this sector.
Which cities in Iowa have the most staffing H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Des Moines accounts for the largest share of staffing H-1B activity in Iowa, driven by its concentration of financial services, insurance, and healthcare employers that rely on staffing firms for specialized talent. Cedar Rapids and Davenport also see meaningful staffing H-1B filings, particularly for IT and engineering placements supporting manufacturing and technology operations in those metro areas.
What types of staffing roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Roles must meet the specialty occupation standard, requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field directly related to the position. In Iowa's staffing sector, qualifying roles commonly include software developers, data analysts, systems engineers, financial analysts, and certain healthcare IT specialists. General administrative, light industrial, or generalist recruiting roles placed by staffing firms typically do not qualify.
How do I find staffing H-1B sponsorship jobs in Iowa?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters jobs by visa type, industry, and state, making it straightforward to browse staffing H-1B sponsorship jobs in Iowa without sifting through listings from employers who don't sponsor. You can narrow results to the staffing and recruiting category within Iowa to see which firms are actively hiring and have a documented history of H-1B filings.
Are there any Iowa-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship through a staffing firm?
When a staffing firm places you at a third-party client site in Iowa, both the staffing agency and the end client may be subject to USCIS scrutiny regarding who controls your day-to-day work. USCIS applies stricter review to staffing arrangements, examining whether a legitimate employer-employee relationship exists. Placements with defined project scopes and clear supervision by the petitioning staffing firm generally hold up better under review.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B staffing jobs in Iowa?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
