Several staffing firms operating in Iowa have filed H-1B visa Labor Condition Applications, including national staffing companies with Midwest offices and Iowa-based firms like Aureon and Source Allies. IT staffing companies placing contractors at large Iowa employers such as Principal Financial, Hy-Vee, and UnityPoint Health tend to be the most active H-1B sponsors in this sector.
Which cities in Iowa have the most staffing H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Des Moines accounts for the largest share of staffing H-1B activity in Iowa, driven by its concentration of financial services, insurance, and healthcare employers that rely on staffing firms for specialized talent. U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
