Position Summary:
Magellan Jets is seeking a highly skilled and experienced QA Analyst to join our dynamic technology team. This senior-level role is crucial in shaping the quality and reliability of our digital infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in quality assurance, a proven track record of leading test strategy, and hands-on experience testing web and mobile applications at scale.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for web and mobile applications.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
- Identify, document, and track software defects and ensure their timely resolution.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and provide timely feedback.
- Ensure continuous improvement in test coverage and effectiveness.
- Monitor and analyze test results to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Participate in the development and implementation of QA processes and methodologies.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends related to quality assurance.
- Lead QA strategy and test architecture decisions, establishing best practices and standards across the engineering organization.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks to increase release velocity and reduce manual testing overhead.
- Drive cross-functional alignment on quality standards, partnering with engineering leadership to embed quality earlier in the development lifecycle.
COMPETENCIES:
Knowledge
- Solid understanding of software development life cycle and QA methodologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on web applications and iOS/Android mobile apps.
Skills
- Experience testing web applications and mobile apps (iOS and Android).
- Proficiency leveraging AI tools to improve and automate QA processes.
- Proficiency with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, Cypress) and performance testing tools; experience building and owning test automation frameworks strongly preferred.
Abilities
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and business teams.
SUPERVISORY/ MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not carry formal supervisory or management responsibilities; however, the role is expected to provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior QA team members.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Location: Primarily office-based; Work from the Quincy, MA office Monday-Thursday, and the option to work from home on Fridays.
- Conditions: General office environment with moderate noise levels. Occasional travel to aircraft or client locations may be required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Extended periods sitting at a desk or workstation.
- Occasional walking between work areas (meetings, restrooms, kitchen).
- Repetitive Hand and Wrist Movements via frequent typing and use of a mouse.
- Light lifting of office supplies, documents, or equipment (up to 20 lbs.).
- Screen Use: Prolonged use of a computer screen.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a Full-Time, Exempt position.
TRAVEL:
Limited, but may require occasional overnight travel for industry conferences, client meetings, or operational oversight at other locations.

The QA Analyst role offers a competitive annual base salary of $85,000.00 to $115,000.00. Final compensation is based on experience and location, and the position includes eligibility for Magellan Jets’ comprehensive benefits package.
