Associate Product Manager, Traffic Shaping
Boston, MA
Hybrid Schedule (M/F remote, T/W/TH in-office)
At Magnite, we cultivate an environment of continuous growth and collaboration. Our work impacts what millions of people read, watch, and buy, and we're looking for people to help us tackle that responsibility with creativity and focus. Magnite (NASDAQ: MGNI) is the world's largest independent sell-side advertising platform. Publishers use our technology to monetize their content across all screens and formats, including CTV / streaming, online video, display, and audio. Our tech fuels billions of transactions per day!
About this team:
Traffic Shaping uses machine learning to identify the ad requests most valuable to process, helping maximize publisher revenue while using infrastructure efficiently. Operating at a scale of trillions of requests per day, we partner closely with Data Science and Engineering through a fast, experiment-driven cycle of A/B tests and frequent high-impact deployments.
We're hiring an Associate Product Manager to join our Boston team as an on-ramp into product management. We are not expecting a polished PM out of the gate. We're looking for someone analytical and technical, willing to learn on the job, and able to work side by side with an experienced team of product managers, data scientists, and engineers. We'll invest in developing your skills through real mentorship, hands-on projects, and direct feedback. This role is designed to build the skills and experience needed to take on progressively broader product ownership.
In this role, you will:
- Build a deep understanding of the Traffic Shaping product, its data, and the systems it interacts with, developing the context needed to make sound product decisions
- Analyze large and sometimes messy datasets, turning the results into clear insights, recommendations, and next steps
- Partner with Product, Data Science, and Engineering to design, run, and evaluate A/B tests and deployment validations
- Identify and implement improvements to product operations, launch processes, and recurring workflows, including opportunities for automation
- Translate product problems into clear requirements, coordinate execution across functions, and communicate results to stakeholders
- Take progressively broader ownership, beginning with scoped features and growing into end-to-end responsibility for initiatives from definition through rollout and validation
We’re looking for someone with:
- Early-career hunger to learn. A recent graduate, or someone with ~1-2 years of experience in an analytical or technical role (e.g., analyst, entry-level data scientist, or engineer) who is looking to move into product. We care more about raw ability, curiosity, and grit than years of experience. Prior product management and ad tech experience are not required.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Comfort with data (Excel charts, pivots, basic models, plus SQL or the ability to pick it up fast).
- Technical comfort. Not scared to use the command line, work with AI tools, or read and write a little code. You don't need to be an engineer.
- Clear communication, in writing and verbally. (This grows with repetition, and we'll coach you!)
- An ownership mentality. You take something and follow through without being chased.
- A quantitative or technical background (preferred, not required). e.g., math, statistics, economics, computer science, engineering. No specialized (e.g., ML) degree and no ad tech experience required.
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
In Massachusetts, the base salary range for this role is $95,000 – $105,000.
Actual compensation will be determined based on location, experience, skills, and internal equity.
This role is also eligible for:
- Annual performance-based bonus
- Equity (NASDAQ: MGNI)
- Comprehensive benefits package
During the interview process, candidates will receive more specific information about the salary range applicable to their experience and location.
Perks and Benefits:
- Comprehensive Healthcare Coverage from Day One
- Generous Time Off
- Holiday Breaks and Quarterly Wellness Days
- Equity and Employee Stock Purchase Plan
- Family-Focused Benefits and Parental Leave
- 401k Retirement Savings Plan with Employer Match
- Disability and Life Insurance
- Cell Phone Subsidy
- Monthly Fitness and Reimbursement
Career Growth:
We support internal mobility, skill development, and leadership pathways through structured career frameworks and learning programs.
Company Culture:
Magnite’s culture is rooted in collaboration and connection, recognizing that both are essential to success. Our hybrid schedule includes two remote workdays (Monday and Friday) and three in-office days (Tuesday through Thursday), where employees can take advantage of catered lunches, beverages, snacks, training opportunities, and engaging office events that enhance the work experience. In addition, we support our team through meaningful benefits and programs, including community service and volunteer opportunities, company-matched charitable contributions, access to mental health resources, structured career development initiatives and growth frameworks, culture and inclusion programs, and our Bonusly peer-to-peer recognition platform.

The world's leading agencies and brands trust our platform to access brand-safe, high-quality ad inventory and execute billions of advertising transactions each month. Search Marketing & Advertising Jobs in MassachusettsMarketing & Advertising H-1B Sponsorship Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
Which marketing and advertising companies sponsor H-1B visas in Massachusetts?
HubSpot, Wayfair, TripAdvisor, and Bain & Company are among Massachusetts employers with documented H-1B filing histories in marketing-related roles. Global advertising holding companies with Boston offices, including WPP and Publicis agencies, have also sponsored H-1B workers. Sponsorship activity varies by employer size, role, and hiring cycle, so verifying each company's LCA filing history through OFLC records is the most reliable approach.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most marketing and advertising H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Boston accounts for the large majority of marketing and advertising H-1B sponsorship activity in Massachusetts, particularly in the Seaport District, Back Bay, and Cambridge. Waltham and Burlington host technology company campuses with in-house marketing teams that have sponsored H-1B workers. Worcester and Springfield have smaller advertising markets with more limited sponsorship histories compared to the Greater Boston metro area.
What types of marketing and advertising roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Roles that typically qualify are those requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field, such as digital marketing manager, marketing analytics manager, SEO strategist, brand manager, and market research analyst. Generalist coordinator or assistant roles that accept any degree field may face H-1B specialty occupation scrutiny. USCIS evaluates whether the specific duties require specialized theoretical knowledge, so job description precision matters significantly.
How do I find marketing and advertising H-1B sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters marketing and advertising job listings specifically to employers with verified H-1B LCA filing histories, letting you search by role type and Massachusetts location without sorting through companies that don't sponsor. This is more targeted than general job searches because sponsorship history is surfaced directly. Pair Migrate Mate results with OFLC Wage Search to confirm prevailing wage levels for specific occupations in the Boston metro area.
Are there any state-specific or industry-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in Massachusetts marketing roles?
Massachusetts enforces strict non-compete limitations, which can affect how marketing professionals move between employers and how sponsoring companies structure offers. The state's concentration of universities means many H-1B marketing candidates arrive via OPT transitions, making cap-subject petition timing important. Boston's competitive hiring market means some employers have established immigration sponsorship infrastructure, while smaller agencies may be sponsoring for the first time and require longer internal approval timelines.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B marketing & advertising jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
