JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for helping ensure the product quality and safety of products produced meets all legal requirements. Follow and comply with company procedures and policies set forth by management team, as well as follow and comply with customer specifications. Communicate non-compliances to Production Manager or Supervisor, and verify and document regulatory programs (HACCP, SSOP, GMP and product labeling).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure compliance to all regulatory standards including HACCP, USDA, SSOP’s etc.
- Oversee monitoring, verification, and validation activities to ensure that all products leaving the facility meet the facility Food Safety and Quality Plans.
- Record temperatures (product, marination, process temps etc.) as required by policy.
- Calculate product compliance percentages.
- Enter data obtained through product evaluations.
- Provide backup to and assist in training new employees.
- Verify code dates, ingredients, and labels.
- Gather products for micro testing.
- Maintain documentation for HACCP, SSOP, and GMP.
- Work collectively with USDA and other department managers/supervisors as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of food industry and safety standards.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Skill in performing basic math functions.
- Skill in using a personal computer and various software applications.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to read and write legibly in English.
- Ability to be a self-starter.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to be a good representative of the Company.
- Ability to communicate in a professional and courteous manner.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s Degree in Food Science, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred. Minimum of two years’ related work experience required. Bilingual skills preferred but not required.
