Which hospitality companies sponsor visas in New York?
Major hotel chains including Marriott, Hilton, and Hyatt regularly sponsor H-1B visas for management positions at their Manhattan and regional properties. High-end restaurants like Le Bernardin, Eleven Madison Park, and Per Se sponsor chefs and sommelier roles. Resort operators in the Adirondacks and Catskills also sponsor seasonal workers through H-2B programs during peak tourism seasons.
Which cities in New York have the most hospitality sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan leads with the highest concentration of visa sponsorship opportunities, particularly in Midtown and the Financial District where luxury hotels and corporate dining dominate. Brooklyn and Queens offer growing opportunities in boutique hospitality. Albany, Buffalo, and Rochester provide regional hotel management roles, while the Finger Lakes region sponsors positions in wine tourism and resort management.
How to find hospitality visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate specializes in connecting international candidates with New York hospitality employers who sponsor work visas. The platform filters opportunities by location, visa type, and experience level, making it easy to identify hotels, restaurants, and tourism companies in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and upstate regions that actively recruit international talent for management, culinary, and guest services positions.
What visa types are most common for hospitality roles in New York?
H-1B visas are standard for management positions including hotel general managers, revenue managers, and food service directors requiring bachelor's degrees. O-1 visas apply to executive chefs with extraordinary culinary achievements. H-2B visas cover seasonal positions at Adirondack resorts and Finger Lakes wineries. J-1 visas support international hospitality management trainees at major hotel chains.
Are there specific requirements for hospitality visa sponsorship in New York?
New York's prevailing wage requirements are typically higher than national averages, particularly in Manhattan where hotel management roles must meet premium wage standards. Many positions require hospitality management degrees or equivalent experience. Seasonal roles in upstate regions may have different prevailing wage calculations, and employers often prefer candidates with prior luxury hospitality experience or specialized certifications.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored hospitality jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
