Which biotech and pharma companies sponsor H-1B visas in North Dakota?
North Dakota's biotech and pharma H-1B visa sponsors include agricultural biotechnology firms tied to the state's strong agri-science sector, contract research organizations operating near Fargo, and hospital-affiliated pharmaceutical services companies in Bismarck and Grand Forks. OFLC Labor Condition Application disclosure data shows filings for roles in biochemistry, clinical research, and regulatory affairs from both regional employers and national companies with North Dakota operations.
Which cities in North Dakota have the most biotech and pharma H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Fargo accounts for the largest share of biotech and pharma H-1B activity in North Dakota, driven by proximity to North Dakota State University's research programs and a growing life sciences cluster. Bismarck and Grand Forks also see consistent H-1B filings, particularly in pharmaceutical services and clinical research roles tied to regional healthcare systems and university-affiliated labs.
How do I find biotech & pharma H-1B sponsorship jobs in North Dakota?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and surfaces biotech and pharma roles in North Dakota where employers have verified H-1B sponsorship history based on DOL Labor Condition Application filings. Rather than applying broadly and hoping for sponsorship, Migrate Mate lets you filter directly for H-1B-sponsoring employers in the state, saving significant time and reducing uncertainty in your job search.
What types of biotech and pharma roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in North Dakota?
Roles that commonly qualify for H-1B sponsorship in North Dakota's biotech and pharma sector include biochemists, pharmaceutical scientists, regulatory affairs specialists, clinical research associates, bioinformatics analysts, and quality assurance managers. These positions require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as biochemistry, molecular biology, pharmacy, or a related life science, satisfying the USCIS specialty occupation standard.
Are there any state-specific or industry-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in North Dakota's biotech sector?
North Dakota's biotech sector is heavily influenced by its agricultural research base, meaning many H-1B roles involve plant biotechnology, fermentation science, or agrochemical development rather than traditional pharmaceutical manufacturing. Employers in this niche may have fewer prior H-1B filings than large coastal pharma companies, so reviewing OFLC Labor Condition Application records to assess a specific employer's sponsorship history is particularly useful before applying.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B biotech & pharma jobs in North Dakota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
