Which accounting companies sponsor E-3 visas in Ohio?
The Big Four firms, Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG, have established Ohio offices and a documented history of sponsoring E-3 visas for accounting professionals. Regional firms like Plante Moran and Clark Schaefer Hackett also operate in Ohio and have sponsored international hires. Large Ohio-based corporations with in-house finance functions, including Nationwide and Progressive, are additional sources of E-3 sponsorship in accounting roles.
Which cities in Ohio have the most accounting E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Columbus is Ohio's largest market for accounting E-3 jobs, anchored by corporate headquarters, state government contractors, and all four Big Four offices. Cleveland follows closely, with a strong presence in audit and financial advisory tied to its healthcare and manufacturing sectors. Cincinnati rounds out the top three, driven by consumer goods and financial services firms. Smaller markets like Dayton and Akron have fewer openings but occasional opportunities.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Ohio?
Roles that require a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a closely related field generally qualify as specialty occupations under the E-3. This includes external and internal audit associates, tax analysts, financial reporting accountants, and forensic accountants. General bookkeeping or accounts payable positions that do not require a specific degree field are less likely to meet the specialty occupation standard and may not support an E-3 petition.
How do I find accounting E-3 sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters accounting roles in Ohio by E-3 visa sponsorship, so you are only seeing employers already open to sponsoring Australian nationals. This removes the guesswork of cold-applying to firms that may not understand E-3 or be unwilling to file. Searching Migrate Mate by state and job function is the most direct way to identify active Ohio accounting opportunities that match your visa category.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations for accounting E-3 sponsorship?
Ohio does not impose additional state-level licensing requirements on E-3 holders beyond standard CPA licensure rules, but the Ohio Accountancy Board requires U.S. Social Security Numbers for CPA applications, which you will obtain once working on E-3 status. Australian three-year bachelor's degrees in accounting are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 purposes, though individual employers and their immigration counsel make the final determination on educational equivalency.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 accounting jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
