Which medical devices companies sponsor Green Card visas in Ohio?
Multinational manufacturers with Ohio operations, including Philips Healthcare in Cleveland, Stryker's distribution and service centers, and Cardinal Health headquartered in Dublin, have historically filed employment-based Green Card petitions. Larger companies with established HR and legal infrastructure are more likely to sponsor than smaller regional manufacturers, since the PERM labor certification process requires significant administrative resources.
Which cities in Ohio have the most medical devices Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Columbus leads due to Cardinal Health's headquarters and a growing life sciences presence around The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Cleveland follows closely, anchored by the Cleveland Clinic's affiliated suppliers and Philips Healthcare. Cincinnati benefits from proximity to hospital networks and contract manufacturers serving the broader Midwest medical devices supply chain.
What types of medical devices roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship?
Roles requiring specialized degrees most commonly qualify, including quality engineers, regulatory affairs specialists, R&D engineers, software engineers developing embedded medical software, and manufacturing process engineers. Positions tied to FDA 510(k) submissions or ISO 13485 compliance are particularly common sponsorship candidates, as the technical and educational requirements make them eligible for EB-2 or EB-3 employment-based categories.
How do I find medical devices Green Card sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship type, so you can search for medical devices roles in Ohio where employers have indicated Green Card sponsorship availability. This saves significant time compared to manually reviewing each posting. Migrate Mate also lets you filter by city within Ohio, helping you target Columbus, Cleveland, or Cincinnati based on where you prefer to work.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in medical devices?
Ohio's concentration of large hospital systems, including Cleveland Clinic and OhioHealth, creates steady downstream demand for medical devices talent, which supports sponsorship at supplier and manufacturer level. The state's manufacturing base means many roles fall under EB-3 skilled worker petitions. Ohio does not impose state-level restrictions on employment-based sponsorship, but PERM prevailing wage determinations follow federal Department of Labor regional data for Ohio job markets.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card medical devices jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
