Search Accounting Jobs in OklahomaAccounting OPT Sponsorship Jobs in Oklahoma: Frequently Asked Questions
Which accounting companies sponsor F-1 OPT visas in Oklahoma?
Large public accounting firms with Oklahoma offices, including KPMG, Deloitte, and RSM, have filed Labor Condition Applications for accounting roles and have established OPT hiring processes. Regional firms like HoganTaylor and Eide Bailly also employ international graduates. Energy companies headquartered in Oklahoma City, such as Devon Energy and ONEOK, maintain internal accounting teams that have historically hired OPT candidates for finance and audit functions.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most accounting F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City accounts for the largest share of accounting sponsorship activity in the state, driven by its concentration of energy sector headquarters, regional bank offices, and national firm branches. Tulsa is the second primary market, home to large industrial and manufacturing corporations with internal accounting departments. Norman and Stillwater see smaller volumes of OPT-compatible roles, primarily through university-affiliated employers and smaller regional CPA practices.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for F-1 OPT sponsorship?
Roles that require a degree in accounting or a closely related field and apply specialized knowledge consistently qualify under F-1 OPT. These include staff accountant, audit associate, tax associate, financial analyst, and internal auditor positions. Roles tied to Oklahoma's energy industry, such as revenue accountant and joint-interest billing accountant, are particularly prominent. General bookkeeping or data-entry positions without a degree requirement are less likely to meet the specialty occupation threshold relevant to future H-1B visa transition.
How do I find accounting F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, letting you filter accounting roles in Oklahoma by OPT sponsorship history drawn from DOL Labor Condition Application data. This shows which Oklahoma employers have actively filed for international candidates in accounting, rather than relying on job postings that may not disclose sponsorship intent. Searching by city, firm size, and accounting specialty helps narrow results to positions most likely to support both your OPT period and a future H-1B petition.
Are there any Oklahoma-specific considerations for F-1 OPT accounting candidates?
Oklahoma's accounting job market is heavily influenced by the energy sector, so candidates with coursework or internship experience in oil and gas accounting, revenue recognition, or joint-venture accounting have a competitive advantage with major in-state employers. Oklahoma does not impose additional state-level work authorization requirements beyond federal OPT rules. STEM OPT extension is available to accounting graduates at schools where the program holds a qualifying CIP code classification, so verifying your program's designation with your Designated School Official before applying is advisable.
